Hi,
Autologin works at boot time, but when I suspend or if it suspends after a period of inactivity, you have to use the password to login.
How can I configure Cinnamon/lightdm to autologin so that the password is not needed (except for installing software).
I'm on linuxmint 19 Cinnamon.
Thanks,
Jim

It still requires a password when coming back from suspend.
Here is my /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf file:
[Seat:*]
greeter-hide-users=true
autologin-user=jim

Re: autologin from suspend
Certainly doesn't here on Mint 18.3 Cinnamon. There's a recent thread here, viewtopic.php?f=18&t=274853&p=1507850#p1507763 regarding there being a possible issue on Mint 19; I'd go see if creating a new user account and suspending while being logged into that (only) also shows the issue.
Other than that I'll butt out: seems this being a problem is Mint 19 specific.
