Username changed, now "places" icons wrong?

Post by triode » Tue Aug 21, 2018 6:43 pm

Short intro: I have a number of mint boxes which are doing autofs to an nfs server for homes. This works out fine, and the authentication
is centralized with LDAP.

Two users needed to have a name change, so we converted the user in LDAP and changed the home from /home/oldname to /home/newname.

One and only one problem cropped up from this... In cinnamon these users use the "places" folder, and they also use the file manager quite a bit.
On the side of the file manager, and in places, there are folders such as:

Desktop
Documents
Music
Pictures
Videos
Downloads

Well, they are all "locked", as in they have a lock icon on them. If you hover over (for example) Downloads with the mouse pointer, it will
say /home/oldname/Downloads instead of /home/newname/Downloads.

Where does one change that attribute? I thought that was a dconf setting, but it does not seem to be. I have searched the entire home folder,
recursively, looking for that string in dotfiles. A long time ago, in an X far away, that setting was in a local dot configuration file. I have no idea
where cinnamon/Mint stores this information. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
