Hello,
Could someone please tell me the steps needed to add an xkb layout version to Cinnamon so that I can use it? I have already made the xkb map and I can use it in the terminal but after two hours of searching I just cannot get Cinnamon settings to find the layout and allow me to use it in X. I have reconfigured packges with dpkg, edited /usr/shae/X11/xkb/rules/xfree86.{list,xml}, set settings in gconf-editor and other tactics but I still can't get the layout to be seen.
Long-term it'd be great if someone could write a tool to make this a lot easier as currently it's torture just to add the three extra voiwels in Danish to my existing keymap over symbols I don;t need.
Thanks for your help

Re: How to Add XKB Map
Instead of
/usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xfree86.{list,xml}
you should edit only /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/evdev.xml
