[SOLVED] Mirror display resolution issue

Post by tornskin »

Hello!

I am just beginning my journey with Linux and must admit that some really simple looking things started to get very serious and complicated :)
My primary laptop screen runs: 1366x768@60.00hz, secondary (TV) 1920x1080@60.00hz.

I have following question: is there a possibility to run them with mirror display with laptop resolution stretched to TV size? It used to work just fine this way under windows as duplicate display option. I don't need multiple desktops, I just need to see the exact thing on both monitors.

Mint menu > preferences > display and check the mirror displays box.

Only 1024x768 is available - I forgot to mention this. I can choose mirror displays 1280x720 but it doesn't display on TV (stating that the signal is unsupported). Is there a way to run 1366x768 on laptop, mirror that and be able to stretch it to 1920x1080 that TV runs? 1366x768 is not available when picking TV resolutions (mirror displays unticked). It worked perfectly fine under windows 7 and I am wondering if it's possible under mint as well...

Okay I added custom resolution using xrandr and stretched it on TV screen - worked just fine.
