BUG: Picture aspect wrong with two screens

Post by arnad »

EDIT: Added system information

Hello everyone,

I recently added another monitor ( 1280 x 1024; 5:4 ) to my setup ( 1920 x 1080; 16:9 ) and am observing a strange bug. I set Backgrounds -> Settings -> Picture aspect to zoom. But whenever I log in, the zoom on my main monitor is way too strong. I can fix this by switching to any other aspect and the switching back to the same aspect (Zoom).

I am not entirely familiar with the architecture, so if anyone could tell me which project I need to report this bug to that would be great.

Greetings,

Arnad

It's not necessarily a bug but it's hard to say with no system info whatsoever. Copy/paste this to the terminal and copy/paste the text output here:

Code: Select all

Added output to original post.

As to the matter of it being a bug or not: Under which circumstances should the same setting create different results? (Honest curiosity, no sarcasm intended.)

Open System Settings, look for your Video Cards Icon, click on it fix the screen resolution from there.

Using Linux Mint since 2007, not programming smart, last program language I learned was called Basic on a Commodore 64

The given link does not display a picture. There is also no Video Cards Icon in the System Settings.

Just to clarify: I have no problem with the resolution of my screen. The task bar, start menu etc. are all correctly displayed. Only the background image is not.
