I was using Windows yesterday and when done put it into 'sleep' mode, and this morning I used Win 10 again, did a normal shutdown and then later rebooted to LM. Now I cannot get access to the NTFS partition from LM and I get the following error message:
I have re-entered Win 10 several times and did a standard power shutdown but no change. Also I've gone into win 10 system tools and scanned the drive but found no errors.Error mounting /dev/sda2 at /media/bena/4E5AFF535AFF35F5: Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000" "/dev/sda2" "/media/bena/4E5AFF535AFF35F5"' exited with non-zero exit status 14: Windows is hibernated, refused to mount.
Failed to mount '/dev/sda2': Operation not permitted
The NTFS partition is in an unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown
Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting), or mount the volume
read-only with the 'ro' mount option.
Moreover, I've tried the mount command but LM says I can only do that from root, but I have the "$" prompt. How do I get to root status?
Any ideas?
