I am having an issue with a Mint 19 (updated from 18) - where I had used Cinnamon already successfully.
The machine does boot up quite normally, I am able to reach it via ssh and apache runs fine, for example. I just do not get any graphical login screen on my DVI monitor although I've used Cinnamon before. It stops at showing the green Mint logo with some dots below - I think the graphics system must be available, just that Cinnamon does not start or whatever is necessary.
In the past , I already tried other graphical managers by installing them - no success.
What do I have to do to systematically reinstall and test Cinnamon?
