Loccation of Icons

Post by pinnerite »

If I right-click on a desktop icon, Click Properties and then click on the icon that appears in properties dialog, it will open at a 'Choose an Icon' window but doesn't say where it is.
I wou;d like to know so that i can add my se of icons there.
How can I locate it?

You can put icons in /usr/share/icons for all users (systemwide) or create a (hidden) folder .icons in your home and put the icons there for your user only.

One of my bugbears, it would be nice if properties told you where it was. I've created launchers and then subsequently 'lost' the icon because I couldn't remember where I had put it or what it was called, might be in .icons, or .local/share/icons or somewhere else.
