Be sure you're not misunderstanding the new Cinnamon 4.x "pinned apps" to be launchers, just like I did. :)

the fix for the new launcher works.
no real solution for launching shell commands though.
nemo 3.04 works, nemo 3.06 does not.

Can you give an example desktop file of a non working launcher? There are a few related bugs with desktop launchers all sharing the same common cause....

I use an icon for raid status in case of a raid recovery:

watch cat /proc/mdstat

Does not work from the desktop anymore.
I did recreate it and added it to the main menu.
It will launch from the main menu, just not the desktop.

OK, edit the desktop launcher command to...

gnome-terminal -e "watch cat /proc/mdstat"

...and uncheck the launch in terminal checkbox.

worked. no need to uncheck launch in terminal.
cannot uncheck that anyways without recreating the icon.

That's interesting.

Anyway a hint - right click, open with Text Editor would have been the way to change the Open in Terminal status if it had been needed for an existing launcher.
