Cinnamon suddenly very slow and jerky (18.3)
Posted: Tue Aug 27, 2019 8:17 am
Hi guys,
I don't know if it is somehow related to the latest kernel upgrades, but all of a sudden my 18.3 Cinnamon desktop has become quite slow and jerky, with the mouse moving in a really unpleasant way. Is anybody experiencing anything similar? At first I thought that it was Firefox' fault (it took ten minutes to write a mail in Gmail this morning...), but now I'm not so sure because the problem persists even after closing Firefox.
The weird thing is that if I launch the system monitor nothing is going beyond 15-20% of CPU use, in spite of that the mouse moves jerkily and characters are inserted two-three seconds after I type them in (if I go too fast they're not inserted at all).
Here's the output of inxi -Fxz, thanks for any tip!
