How to change the background color in the taskbar applets (mouse over)?

Post by antrrax »

By default the background color of the applets, when I hover over the applet icon, is the same as in the theme.
However, the background color of the applet 'grouped-window-list@cinnamon.org' is gray (mouse over).

I prefer the color gray, and even for the sake of consistency in design, I would like the applets to follow this gray pattern of 'grouped-window-list@cinnamon.org'

Is it possible to change the background color of the applets on the taskbar only in the mouse over event?

see the image below the printer applet icon with the mouse over it is blue, but I would like it to be gray like the Kodi icon in the applet 'grouped-window-list@cinnamon.org'

printer applet -> mouse over [system theme color: blue]

'grouped-window-list@cinnamon.org' -> mouse over [grey]
