Another Linux Mint fork I see.

Since I have never seen that error message before on any operating system I had to look at the source for nemo-share: https://github.com/linuxmint/nemo-exten ... mo-share.c

Cheese and Crackers.

First, never create a samba usershare of your home directory that allows guest access. It will set permissions to 777 and cause all kinds of problem.

Second, you should never create a guest accessible share of your home directory anyway.

If you want a guest accessible share of a subfolder of your home directory ... like ... /home/invex/Public ... and you want to use Nemo to create it that's ok but you will have to add a "force user" to the [global] section of smb.conf:

Edit /etc/samba/smb.conf and right under the workgroup = WORKGROUP line add this one:

Code: Select all

force user = invex
Then restart smbd:

Code: Select all

sudo service smbd restart
Please add a [SOLVED] at the end of your original subject header if your question has been answered and solved.

It worked!
Thank you *very* much.
P.S. I don't share Home directory. Only Public and Music.
