Graphical bugs in some applications (including VS code)

Post by laufragor »

Hello! I hope this is the correct section :D

I've never had any problems with Mint before, but some new applications I installed display graphical bugs.
As you can see in the screenshots below, there are small horizontal lines or just big white areas. This happened in notorious programs like Visual Studio Code and Microsoft Teams, but also in a relatively unknown program called obsidian. System information is posted below.

How long have you been using 19.3 before this issue came up with the recently installed applications?

A few editions ago on a new install I had severe graphical issues when trying to install Cinnamon and I switched to MATE which has worked fine. Have been using MATE ever since.

I have been using 19.3 since last september, almost a year ago. I just tried with MATE (thanks for the advice!) but the same exact thing happens :|

If you were using 19.3 for a year before these things started happening, and it is not commonly reported as being associated with Mint, maybe it a problem with your computer?
