Hi all,
I just turned on my computer to find the desktop not working properly, everything was fine when I was using it yesterday so I must have done something to mess with it. Everything else works perfectly fine. I can still see the contents of the desktop in the file explorer. I can even change the wallpaper but no icons show up and right clicking on the desktop does nothing. I'm only connected to one monitor and messing with the display doesn't fix it neither does restarting and shutting down the computer. Sorry for the trouble, any help would be appreciated!

Try running
in a terminal to make sure it's running.
Also go to Settings->Desktop and be sure you have the desktop icons enabled.
