NVidia icon system tray [SOLVED]

Post by Manoboy »

I accidentally deleted the NVidia icon tray startup call in Startup Applications. How to recover this call? Which command is correct?

How exactly did you delete it? Did you remove or uninstall the applet?

If you go to Menu > Startup Applications, then you will see a list of all the applications with sliders to turn each one on or off. Check for the "Support for Nvidia Prime" option and see if it is there and enabled.

Thanks for your answer.
I just deleted the call that referred to the system tray icon. This call you cited ("Support for Nvidia Prime") does not appear to me.
What is the command line for me to put?

I do not understand what this means. What did you type to "delete the call"?

The system tray icon is an applet. Did you delete the nvidi-prime-applet from your system?

Please answer this question on how you deleted the call. I am not yet able to help you because I do not understand what you did. Did you type something in the terminal to delete the call? If so, what did you type.

I was in Startup apps with the item selected and accidentally clicked the minus sign at the bottom of the window instead of the edit option.

Go into Startup Apps.
Click the + at the bottom and select Custom Command.

Here are the settings showing on my system for Nvidia Prime.

Name: Support for NVIDIA Prime
Command: /usr/lib/nvidia-prime-applet/nvidia-prime
Comment: Shows a tray icon when a compatible NVIDIA Optimus graphics card is detected
Starup delay: 0

Click Save.
