I would like to change the behavior of the Cinnamon Menu so that it does not search for Files when I type in a query in its search box.
I would like to only search for Applications from the Menu.

As far as I know the Menu does not search for Files by default. My Menu does not search for files, only apps.
How did you enable this feature?
Which version of Mint/Cinnamon are you using? I'm on 20.1.
