suspend laptop immediately despite other logins?

Post by brainchild »

When I attempt to suspend my system, I find the following message appearing on the desktops of other users:
Authentication is required to suspend the system while other users are logged in
Closing the laptop cover also does not cause suspend, even when the battery is very low, despite the system being configured for suspending on lid closing.

A laptop should suspend when the person physically holding it wishes to suspend it. It is infeasible to switch to the desktops of other logged-in users and enter all the passwords.

How do I disable this behavior?

There is an interesting blog post here https://medium.com/opsops/who-is-inhibi ... 180959c23, where he mentioned 'ignore inhibitor'; the illustration is the message that you are getting. Hope this helps
