I recently discovered Cinnamon's built-in screen recorder (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R) and, since it can be called more or less instantly, thought it would be a good tool to use to do an immediate capture without the need to specify output file name, etc. etc.
But - it doesn't seem to capture any audio at all, whether any is currently playing, or from an attached microphone.
Is audio even supported on this utility and, if so, what's the trick? I did notice that, when playing back any recorded file, the sound is shown as muted, which is probably a "clue" of sorts.
From other postings on this utility, it seems that no configuration files are used to support this; is that still true?
Thanks for any hints ...

Re: Audio with Screen Recorder
Simple Screen Record is a great alternative with a lot more controls, yet still easy to use.

Re: Audio with Screen Recorder
Thanks - SSR is what I currently use, and certainly works well.
I was mainly looking at the Cinnamon version as an "extra" tool because it can be activated almost instantly - i.e. when I had no intention of recording anything until spotting something transient that I wanted to grab. It begins recording as fast as I can press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R, while it takes several seconds to get SSR up and running.
Admittedly this doesn't happen often, but it would be nice if it could capture audio as well, so I thought I'd ask.
