What happened here?

I was just using my laptop normally then i left it idle for a few, it dimmed the screen and i touched the touchpad to stop it from turning off the screen.

Then i noticed the below as per the attached images.

The first image shows the shutdown dialog, the second show the icons at the taskbar level

Check the system fonts:
Screenshot from 2021-06-14 10-51-31.png
and check the fonts are present, they live in /usr/share/fonts.

Refreshing your font cache may help:
