System:
Kernel: 5.4.0-77-generic x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Cinnamon 5.0.4
Distro: Linux Mint 20.2 Uma
Just upgraded. Everything seems fine. Added a new user. For this user the task bar shows a differnt behaviour:
No text, symbols for running tasks are underlined ...
Not for an old user. Can this be configured?

It depends, which applet is active, see attachment:
Default is grouped-window-list, not window-list.
Still irritating with window-list: The buttons are right justified.
I think the problem is the following:
If You have a home directory (with configuration) for a long time, You never will see that the defaults (for a new user) have changed.

Preferences -> Welcome Screen -> First Steps -> Panel Layout -> Traditional
I was playing around with 20.2 on a USB stick tonight and those are the steps to take.
Click bottom left and three columns of items show. Preferences is towards the bottom in the middle column.
The Welcome screen used to come up by default on a new installation but not now. It had a little box to untick if you didn't want it to default show.

No need to install a specific screenshot tool for that. I've been posting screenshots here for 5 years and I have never used ksnip.
How do you post screenshots?

i click the PrintScreen button. Or if I want just a part of the screen, which is most often what I want, I hold Shift and then tap the PrintScreen button.
I save the screenshot and then upload it as an attachment to my forum message.

On my HP the button right of F12 does not work. Any other button? Shift+Button? Fn+Button ... Nothing works.

Does that include the PrtSc button?
On my Thinkpad x220 the button to the right of F12 is the delete button, so I'm going to wager a guess that your keyboard differs from mine.
