[SOLVED] Tiling & Snapping using Keyboards isn't functioning like before.

Post by MrCipher691 »

Earlier when i used super+arrow keys, the focused window would snap to that side. Similarly when i used to super+right and then super+left the maximized window would first snap to right and then become unmaximized, and then on super+left would snap to left. likewise on super+up and then super+down the maximized window would first snap to top and then become unmaximized, and then on super+down would snap to bottom.

Now here the problem which i have been facing for the past couple of days, on doing the same the window won't unmaximize, no matter what pattern i use, that was a very handy feature. If anyone can please help me solve this issue.

Using the keyboard i am not able to unmaximize a window. Only snaps and maximize. Please help.

I am not even kidding, I have run into the same exact issue. I have been using hotkeys to tile my windows and I can only snap/tile my windows to sides/corners and maximize the windows. If I try to "undo" the tile to return to the previous window format, I am unable to. More than that, I've been messing around with this for the past 30 minutes and I've broken tiling completely now. My terminal started glitching out a bit and Linux Mint is no longer responsive to my tiling hot keys.

I've looked elsewhere to sort out this issue but can't seem to find anything. There doesn't even seem to be anything related to "debugging" tiling.

Hey, so update on that. I went on their GitHub repo and added an issue. I got a response saying that they are aware of it and it'll be fixed in the next Muffin (Windows Manager) update.

Here's the link to my issue: https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/10227

Here's the link to the fix mentioned by one of the contributors: https://github.com/linuxmint/muffin/com ... 517391c8f2

Hope this gives you peace of mind!

Hey,
I just wanted to know if the issue is resolved for you. I've been waiting for the muffin update but either I haven't received it yet or I don't know, but I still have the issue.
It would be great if you could help me out.
