Hi,
About compositing
I don't understand how compositing itself works.
Cinnamon
Menu button --Preferences --System Settings
Section Preferences: General
Disable compositing for full-screen windows: switch it on.
Please tell me something that I can see this effect visually.
For example, a window somewhere or a Website somewhere.

Honestly - neither do I... but I appreciate it when it works.greengreen wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 25, 2021 6:40 pm About compositing

Yes, read the above links, do your own searching.
But I can tell you what the disable compositing for full screen is for. Compositing puts an extra load on the GPU, and since full screen windows are often used for watching video files, this should improve the video performance. It's not a desktop effect. If you read up on the subject you'll see that compositing isn't all about effects.

Thank you.
I felt that composites are related to window frame decoration and refresh rates.
I speculated that the reason for making it useless in full screen is related to the former.
On the other hand, for the latter, I don't understand the difference between composite and Cinnamon visual effects.
Would you explain it to me about the role each has?

Since you don't seem to have done much searching yourself. No one here is being paid for this.

right... -_- ... Hoser Bob...... make sure you make the op feel guilty just because the OP simply asked for an explanation. -_-
You gave greengreen that link and could have just left it at that without the pointless and rude guilt trip.
I COULD understand you saying
THAT ...then deserves the appropriate field-leveling response about no one here being paid. But greengreen didn't illustrate such an attitude. So relax.

if greengreen was saying something as if to indicate that helpful responses were slow here and anything of the sort. YEAH..THEN that makes sense remind the op " um..dude...we're volunteers. No one here is on your paid time clock. So chil out with that attitude. No one here owes you anything"no one here is paid to be helpful

Solved Re: About compositing of Cinnamon
Thanks to everyone, I have found the best settings for my PC.
Below, I will feedback on what I have learned and practiced.
Since it is my old notebook PC, the performance of the built-in GPU and monitor is a memoir.
I tried turning off vertical sync for Linux Mint Cinnamon.
Set vertical sync to "None" in System Settings-General.
This seems to be the place to set Muffin, the window manager of the desktop environment Cinnamon.
Vertical synchronization On matches the number of frames on the GPU and monitor, and Off ignores it and causes the GPU to reach its max performance.
Whether to turn it on or off depends on the combination of its HW performance.
Choose the one that does not disturb the screen drawing and is agile.

It was off for my laptop.
It may have been stuttering (short freeze) and moody when it was on so far.
Even if it is turned off, tearing (screen cracking) does not occur.
Since I use the GPU to the fullest, the fans have become more active, but I will give priority to the agility of the experience.
