Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
Did you do anything special to get that Cinnamon version?Desktop: Cinnamon 5.0.5 wm: muffin 5.0.1
What themes are you using? I use this:

Nothing special, beside installing fresh linux mint but conserved my

This is the theme I use:
Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
What setting puts the directory names on the right side of the icons?
I think the default setting puts the directory names below the icons

Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
This is the actual view of the file window.
And this is the option for the name on the side.
But the problem is not because is on the side, just clarify, the problems is that the name is too low (on the side) when you select, specially with long name is noticiable.Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
I recently formatted an old notebook and fresh install Mint 20.2 cinnamon, all in one drive, and tick the names on the side and has the same result, the name is not centered on the side.
If you see closely, the names inside of the selection (rounded rectangle) are at the bottom and to the left, instead of centered on x and y axis.

Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
When I check that setting, my directory looks just like yours. The directory names are above center. No big deal for me. If you ever get this fixed, let us know.
Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
Ok, sadly is no option for this fine tuning, in Mint 19.3 don't have this problem and this tick me off my ocd lol.
Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
I use LM 19.3 and I think it is the same as yours. But the problem is so subtle that I am not sure.
Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
I make this comparison for easy tell you how to see the align.
In blue theme is the Mint 20.2 with the orange theme is the Mint 19.3. In the 1st picture you can see the, how to call it, a dry selection(?), the dots rectangle is disalign compared with 19.3.
And in the 2nd picture the info is touching the edge of the rectangles, in 19.3 there not happens.
mikeflan if there is not an option, I just need to deal with it, thanks you very much for time.

Re: Nemo - Names of File and Directories Not Centered
That was, until a few days ago, the latest versions for LM20.2. No one needed to do anything special to get it. Cinamon 5.0.6 and muffin 5.0.2 were released in the past few days.
Technically, the Cinnamon configuration files are in hidden directories in the home partition. So if you reused your home partitions from prior versions of Linux Mint, then you may have a mixture of files from multiple versions. That could cause odd things to happen.FinderX wrote: ⤴Mon Oct 11, 2021 11:44 pmNothing special, beside installing fresh linux mint but conserved my/home

I looked at your screenshot of the fresh install of LM20.2 and the one from your LM19.3 and I do not see a difference. In both cases, the text has a small amount of color under the text just like my LM20.2 image here. They are all aligned at the bottom and the left side. The text is not centered in the colored rectangle - neither top to bottom or right to left. There is definitely more color to the right side of your text on the LM19.3 image.
However, it is also not below it like it is in your LM20.2. It is possible that may be a result of you reusing your /home from LM19.3.
