Faint Outline of box's on desktop

I am seeing faint rectangular box's being drawn on my Cinnamon desktop. It is like multiple launchers have been create, but the launcher background is transparent. Double clicking on the area does nothing, so they are not truly launchers. These boxes start on the left side of the desktop and extends top to bottom in six columns. I does not matter what the desktop background I am using. If I lock the screen the box's do disappear. Has anyone see this before? I have not tried login complete off or rebooting, many because they are not causing any issue at the moment, except being annoying.

If I lock the screen the box's do disappear.

What steps are you taking to lock the screen.

To me, that almost seems more like an overlay rather than a background.

Never thought it would be a overlay. But at the moment, I would not even know how to start looking such a thing.

I think that calls ups the screen-saver.

We'll have to see if someone else might have ideas. I do not know the code well enough to have an idea of what might be happening.
