I am using Linux Mint 20.1 and Cinnamon 4.8.6. A few days ago, whenever I received a message in an application such as Teams or Telegram, the icon for the application would flash red and then stay red. This meant that if I didn't see the notification (I have a wide monitor so I often miss them), I would at least see the red icon and know that someone was messaging me. Now for some reason, this red highlight for the application icon has stopped.
I couldn't find an example of how this used to appear in Mint but here is a screenshot of the same effect in Windows:
What is the name of this effect? Is there something I can google to try to see if I can learn more? I would like to see if I can file a bug but I don't even know what this feature is called.
