How to get Desklets working? - { Resolved, need Wx Sta ]

The Time Desklet worked like a champ,

but the Weather Desklet eludes me, I can't figure out how to get it "installed" so it shows on the Desktop

For that matter, most of them elude me as to how to get them working,
they don't show in the Menu

Add desklets on top of your desktop wallpaper!
To install a desklet: Download it and decompress it in ~/.local/share/cinnamon/desklets.
You can also download and install desklets straight from within Cinnamon, using the "Desklets" configuration tool in the "System Settings".

Desklets > Download tab > Navigate to Weather Desklet > Press the download button the the right > Back to Manage Tab > Navigate to Weather Desklet > Press the Add button, bottom left. It will now be on your desktop. You can then either right click on the Weather Desklet > Configure or hit the Gear icon in the Manage tab to set it up for correct location, pick a weather provider etc. Right Click on the Desklet > Help is also informative for the config options.

guess i have to install the weather station that my sister gave to me, before it will work.

No API key. You must own a Personal Weather Station in order to generate an API key

The weather applet has a decent no API required worldwide provider (OpenWeatherMap)

The BBC provider that the Desklet defaults to with no API required is great for the UK, and does provide worldwide coverage, but you may be far from it's nearest location outside of the UK. E.g. here in Portugal, the closest location I can get is a reasonably sized city about 35km away. Whereas OpenWeatherMap in the applet has my nearest village about 2km away as a location.

when I click on options for a source, every one of them specifies "needs an API key"

the documentation states check the HELP button, which does NOT exist.
and I don't see how to get a "location key code", click in that box, and nothing, the Docs say nothing about that either, nor does Google

Right click on the Desklet on your Desktop - Help is the first menu entry - it opens this file in a web browser - ~/.local/share/cinnamon/desklets/bbcwx@oak-wood.co.uk/help.html

For the BBC weather code go to the BBC weather site and search for a nearby town / city - https://www.bbc.com/weather. The location code the is the last digits of the url for that cities weather forecast. E.g my nearest city is Coimbra with a URL of https://www.bbc.com/weather/2740637 - 2740637 is what I put into the Desklet settings as a location.

Tulsa, OK is recognized, but that is 35 miles away, and usually a bit different than our Wx.

and, there is no code shown for Tulsa

The URL for Tulsa is https://www.bbc.com/weather/4553433 so the location code you need is 4553433
