For example, Windows dialog is
(Fedora) KDE has dialog
Qt dialog
but (my preferred desktop manager) Cinnamon has:
Is large and has not any important thing: line edit
I like using DoubleCommander, I used commanders from ages, first was Norton Commander with DOS, next Total Commander with Windows, next Double Commander and Crusader. In commander can copy name with ^Enter, path with Shift ^ Enter and directory with ^p.
This is way to fast paste directory to open dialog.
Cinnamon has any Bugzilla, where can I suggest chenge? Only small change is needed in open Dialog - line edit.

Re: Suggestion about file open/save dialog
I have seen so many topics like this one about the Save File dialog.
Unfortunately it's because of GTK, that's how they made their save file dialog.
Gnome people like to make their stuff really weird and unintuitive.
I think it's upstream from Mint devs, not much they can do...
It's probably not going to change.
I usually press Ctrl+L to get the line editing.
