LMDE5 - Touchpad tap-to-click disabled after update
This is for anyone who might experience this problem. After about a month, I ran an apt update on my laptop yesterday. After restart, my tap-to-click was not functioning. I had to go into my touchpad settings to re-enable the functionality. In recent editions (19.x - 20.x, and LMDE5) of Mint, it's been enabled by default, so this was a first for me, and rather a surprise, as Mint just seems to work as a rule.

Thanks 10x. I had this problem and remembered an old answer containing driver updates. So you saved me from trying, the mousepad/touchpad settings worked perfectly
