<SOLVED> next wallpaper?
In Mint 17.1 Cinnamon, with the automatic wallpaper changer set, is there a way to switch to the next wallpaper? I have it set in "Random order."

Open applets (in main menu or right click panel and select 'add applets to panel') and add the applet called 'slideshow-controls'
You can then access the slideshow controls from the icon in the panel, I don't use the slideshow myself so can't say for certain how to use it.. but, clicking on it should make that fairly obvious, I'd expect.
