SOLVED: KDE Plasmoids - How to Install

Post by Art3mis9 »

Hi,

I'm brand new to KDE, having spent the last ten years a dedicated GNOME user. As such, I stumbled upon this 'Plasmoid' thing and decided to look into it a bit. Long story short, I've coded a simple Plasmoid and I want to use it on my desktop. I created the necessary qml/xml files, as well as the .desktop entry file. They're all packaged up in a directory called vpn-monitor. So far, I've done the following:

Code: Select all

plasmapkg --install vpn-monitor
From what I can gather, this should have allowed me to then add the widget...but there's no sign of it.

Anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Regards,

Thanks! Works like a charm.

I guess I was using the KDE4 method. My bad!
