Rate my theme

Post by kmt80 »

Hey I am new to the forums and theming cinnamon but not new to linux.
I have created a theme called Cassia (not finished yet). The theme is inspired by elements of Gnome 3, Windows 10 and general dark themes. I would appreciate some feedback and advice regarding design thanks, The images are posted here

Looks nice. I was expecting the menu background to also be white though :) I guess if you're going to upload this one, people will want to know your icon theme and wallpaper as well. Goes very well together with your desktop theme.

@xenopeek

Thanks. I isolated the popup menus and main menu to give them different colors. I am trying to find a CSS selector which will isolate applet/systray backgrounds without having to modify their javascript code (I have been unsuccessful so far)

Icons: papirus
GTK theme: Adapta (deliberately not shown)
Wallpaper: Linux Mint by sele

You are doing fine so far.
As a personal choice, I prefer color instead of a lot of black and white - but that is just me...
Your neon icons are a nice effect.

@austin.texas

I am thinking of using a CSS preprocessor and including a config file so that colors can be changed by the user. If you want to change the menu highlight color then simply change the value in the config and reload cinnamon. I might even think about making an applet that does that but I have never played about with the cinnamon api

Very nice! As much as I love Mint, there is way too much green.
