Removing text from bottom panel tabs.

Post by husbondimyntu »

Removing text from bottom panel tabs.

Is there a theme that does not have text descriptors in the tabs of the panel?
Or any way I could achieve this?

There is a previous solution to problem on forum but not for cinnamon.

I am running Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa.

I have no programming skills.

Thanks.

Are you referring to the tabs for open apps? On 18.2 and 18.3 Cinnamon I've been using the 'Icing Task Manager' Applet to hide the app titles (and show the icon only). I've also set it to show a thumbnail when an icon is hovered over. Here's a screenshot example (click to enlarge)...

If the applet is available to you (ie: you can install it), under the 'Panel' setting change 'Title display' to none.
