Modifying Linux Mint 19

Post by Askey307 » Mon Jul 09, 2018 10:55 am

Hey Guys

So, I'm keen on modifying my LM19 since installation Saturday. However, under themes, icons and widgets it's the same old stuff. What can you guys suggest and advise for a mind-blowing desktop?

Something new or new ppa's for customization.

Share screenshots of your desktops, please.

Kind Regards

There's a specialised subforum for that: viewtopic.php?f=214&t=260238
There are no silly questions, but there are silly answers.

You can roll your own custom theme quite easily in Mint 19 with third party apps like Oomox - take a look at viewtopic.php?f=211&t=252178. Under Mint 19 all the dependencies are available.

https://www.opendesktop.org/s/Cinnamon - plenty here - if installing GTK themes make sure they are targetted at GTK3.20+ for Mint 19. Metacity themes need to include a metacity-theme-3.xml file to be supported in Cinnamon 3.8.
