/usr/share/themes and, if it has been created, ~/.themes.

If you're talking about which themes are currently active, org.cinnamon.desktop.interface in dconf.

Thank you.
I have an old, complete backup (drive image).
I don't want to restore it. I only need to know what theme was used.

Ok. In that case you will have to look in the dconf file on that old drive: ~/.config/dconf/user.

However, this is a binary file, not a text file, so you're going to have to dump it into a text format. Something along the lines of:

Code: Select all

cd ~/Desktop

mkdir dconf 

cp path_to_user_file_on_old_drive/user ~/Desktop/dconf

XDG_CONFIG_HOME=~/Desktop dconf dump / > dconf.txt

xed dconf.txt
Then search for "theme" within that text file.
