I have downloaded the Mojave-gtk-theme-master in zip and I have unzipped it from the download file and cannot find it in my Themes using the Tweak program.
I did not unzip this file from Terminal.
I am a newbie and would appreciate some guidance.
Thank you

Re: Trying to Install Mojave Theme in Mint 20. 1 from zip file
I guess you are talking about this https://github.com/vinceliuice/Mojave-gtk-theme ?
This one looks quite complicated, IMHO.
The easiest way to install a theme, in Cinnamon at least, is to go to Menu > Preferences > Themes > Add/Remove. But those Spices are only installed in your user ~/.themes directory. It is better when installed in /usr/share/themes because this way it is available to all users, including root and login screen...
Another complete, safe and simple way to install a theme is to run a Debian package, when available. The officially approved ones are found in your Software Manager or Synaptic, or else you can find Debian packages everywhere, including on GitHub and https://www.pling.com/.
But this Mojave theme is different. You must read their frontpage https://github.com/vinceliuice/Mojave-g ... /README.md first. Reading this, you will find you have two options: installing from source or snap. Snap looks much easier, but it is disabled in Mint, so you should do your own research about that, and how to get snap on Mint.

Installing from source
- Prefer a stable release: https://github.com/vinceliuice/Mojave-g ... e/releases
- Install all their Requirements as listed on their README. You can use your Synaptic Package Manager to search about those requirements and install them if not already there. Or your Software Manager for big things like Inkscape.
- Run their custom installer from the Terminal:
cd ~/Mojave-gtk-theme-2020-11-29
and from there./install.sh
- Select this theme from Menu > Preferences > Themes > Controls

I found some easier way to install this. Download from there: https://www.pling.com/p/1275087
I DID NOT TEST THIS. But it seems to be made by the original author and thousands of people have downloaded this already, so i guess it is trustable.
Read the Description!

It says you need to open your Terminal and do this:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine gtk2-engines-pixbuf
- Click on Download, not Install. Select one of the "Alt" versions.
- Unzip.
- Copy the entire directory into /usr/share/themes
- Select from Menu > Preferences > Themes

After installing way to many themes the hard way I have found recently it is super easy once you install ocs-url at https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1136805/. Then afterward you can just click the install button of any themes you want on cinnamon-look.org
