Open File Box How To Change It Back

Post by begtognen »

OS: Linux Mint XFCE 20.2

I've just upgraded to 20.2 and the Open/Save dialog box has changed. The Open button is at the top:

NEW:

And what I'd love is if the buttons were back down at the bottom, the way they are here:

Is that possible? Thank you for your help.

Yes, it is possible :)

In the main menu go to Settings Editor (not Settings Manager) and on the left-hand side click xsettings. Then on the right-hand side untick the option DialogsUseHeader which will change the value from True to False and thereby restore the old arrangement.

I upgraded this system for one or two months and my mouse still goes down to where the buttons used to be ever since I began using Linux Mint. Why they had to change it?
Thanks @begtognen for bringing this up, this helped me a lot!
