Nadia Mate 64bits and the compiz effects

Post by Uvoguine » Sun Nov 25, 2012 8:51 pm

I just installed Nadia Mate 64bits. I would like to have desktop effects. So I installed the package compizconfig-settings-manager.

But when I change settings nothing happens. When I try

Code: Select all

~ $ compiz --replace
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: core
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: core
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: ccp
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: ccp
compizconfig - Info: Backend : ini
compizconfig - Info: Integration : true
compizconfig - Info: Profile : default
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: composite
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: composite
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: opengl
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: opengl
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: decor
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: decor
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: gnomecompat
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: gnomecompat
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: scale
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: scale
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: regex
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: regex
compiz (core) - Info: Loading plugin: animation
compiz (core) - Info: Starting plugin: animation
/bin/sh: 1: /usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator: not found
all the effects work but I don't have anymore a window decorator (like metacity).

I would like to have effects and a window decorator so if anyone knows how to I would be happy to read it :D

I had the same problem and have fixed it, I'm just not completely sure how. Is the window decoration plugin enabled in ccsm? Because by default it wasn't for me. I have also installed a few more compiz packages, so that might have done it. Sorry I can't be of much help.
