Compiz & Mint 13 Mate (64 Bit) - SOLVED. (thank you.)
Am trying out a fresh install on MInt 13 Maya (Mate) 64 bit. Sadly, they seem to have dumped Compiz and I am hell bent on keeping Wobbly Windows, which work fine in my older Mint 11 (32 bit). Have tried installing a few times. - Hardware acceleration drivers tell me they are working o.k. so beyond this I need more experienced help.

Re: Compiz & Mint 13 Mate (64 Bit).
download compiz config settings manager (works best from package manager) and install it. then go to terminal and type in "compiz --replace" without quotes and it should activate. it does change the window border so if you find a way to get the original one back and keep compiz please let me know. you can also put the command in startup applications and it will work on startup.

Well, thanks for that. Window borders look o.k. - Have not tried out the cube effect yet but on entering the info in terminal, at first it looked as though something was wrong. - Closed the terminal & suddenly, my Wobbly Windows are back. Thanking you very much.

Added the line to start up applications. Wobbly windows are back. Will give it up to 48 hours & see if it holds. Not sure if this is just a band-aid solution or not. - Rgds.
