At the moment, having sorted (most) h/w needs I'm concentrating on cosmetics to be sure that I can recreate the environment that previous versions had seduced me to now expect. Ok, that's the preamble!
The current (and hopefully last) cosmetic challenge is to get Screenlets working.
It's not available in Synaptic so after research found the latest version at https://launchpad.net/screenlets which provides the latest version for Xenial. Installed it and then Screelets-pack-all using make install. It available in Menu>Accessories>Screelets but nothing happens (although Screenlets Daemon has been added to start-up apps). Tried launching from terminal to view anjy errors and we have
Code: Select all
chris@Toshiba ~/Downloads/indiv-screenlets-0.1.7 $ screenlets
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/screenlets-manager/SCREENLETS-MANAGER.PY", line 35, in <module>
import screenlets
ImportError: No module named screenlets
Next I tried http://www.webupd8.org/2017/02/screenle ... d-for.html and used the instructions for 16.10 and Screenlets now appeared in Synaptic. Removed all the folders from my previous attempt and installed from Synaptic but the outcome was the same.
Any help would be appreciated.
