Installed Compiz and wobbly windows plug in but no effect, no wobbly windows.

Compiz does not work with Cinnamon.
When I give opinions, they are my own. Not necessarily those of any other Linux Mint developer or the Linux Mint project as a whole.

This is why Compiz is already installed on the xfce and mate versions though. You would just go to the Desktop settings and enable it instead of the default window manager.
