Conky - icons and transparency problem

Post by flammenwurfer »

I'm new to conky and I finally have a config file put together I'm happy with. However, I have one more problem.

If I set "own_window" to no conky shows up fine and the background is transparent, and everything looks pretty. BUT, my desktop icons don't show up unless I move the mouse over them.

If I set "own_window" to yes, and use "own_window_transparent yes" the desktop icons show up fine, but the background of conky is no longer transparent, even though I set it to be.

Anybody know why this is happening? Thanks

If you mean Conky - a system monitor I find the following
a) It is hard to set up properly
b) Most people can’t get it working right, but its an AWESOME app if it can be set up right done.

I think you should try the help you can get from Conky's home page
