Setting a Compiz or Metacity default

Post by Garvan »

When you have both Metacity and Compiz installed, how do you specify which one starts as default? I can use the Compiz Fusion Icon to switch between options, but my settings are on saved on reboot.

Thanks,

Garvan

I was going to ask the same question, how do I set the Compiz as the default window manager, it is set as the default on my laptop but not my desktop!

I've just discovered this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1757759, so will have a play later

changing /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/classic-gnome.session as described in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1757759 worked for me (on the second attempt after I realised I was changing the wrong file, doh)
