LSPKG - List, describe, and filter installed Debian packages.

Post by Termy »

Thought I'd share one of my programs here. I figured this forum would be the best place, since it's terminal-focused. I wrote LSPKG for Debian- and Ubuntu-based distributions of Linux, so that includes Linux Mint and LMDE.

To quote the man page: "Designed to be easy to use and pleasant to view, LSPKG allows the user to provide a sorted list of all packages which are currently installed, including their short descriptions." There is plenty of filtering available, including the ability to use REGEX — refer to the image above. BASH completion is also supported.

I'm bumping this ancient thread of mine because I just overhauled and rewrote LSPKG in PERL. Didn't see the point in creating the same thread twice. I've edited the post accordingly. Hope this tool helps you as much as it's helped me over all these years, only now it's a ton better. :)
