The current setup on my Thinkpad T520 with Mint 21 MATE:

The Conky theme is a personally customized version of the Minimalis theme - I like my system info.

Re: All Desktop Screenshots of 2023
In my spare time I'm trying to automate my custom theme to adapt. Rather than being set and static I'm trying to put a tonne of options in there and running sed scripts to find and replace a base color with an accent color from the wallpaper and flow that through to the icons. Also working on some nemo scripts and rofi layouts too.

I think winterball is my fave of all time mint wallpaper

I'm using fluent theme as a base and then overriding it in places to add in these tweaks. There's a python script that will also produce a blurry version of the wallpaper that can be used as a background to the panel, start menu and the login screen.

Yep just for Cinnamon, there's a tonne of processing behind it. In fact I had to check to see if the slideshow was enabled because it takes at least 2 minutes to reprocess all the assets. WIP

I definitely think Cinnamon has everything there to become more fluid and theme configurable. The accent color aspect is fun because you're not just limited to the small selection out of the box.

Cool...MATE user here, so likely not something I will end up using, but it looks awesome and I appreciate the work behind it!

My Linux Mint 21.1 'Vera' Cinnamon Desktop

I use the Variety app to change my desktop background every two minutes (it also has the option to display the current time and date as well, as can be seen in the lower right corner), and I use Plank for my dock on the left.
And in spite of how many clocks I have displayed, I still manage to lose track of time.
