If you don't visit the site, it may not be worth while but there is a website called lifehacker.com and about once a week they post a "Featured Desktop" which is an editors choice from a large collection of screen-shots posted in a flickr group. The link to the flickr group is here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/lifehacker ... tell/pool/ and the website is here: http://lifehacker.com/
Good luck :)

I sometimes wonder if this thread should be renamed the "Official Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread" :D
If you have a question that has been answered and solved, then please edit your original post and put a [SOLVED] at the end of your subject header
Hint - use a google search including the search term site:forums.linuxmint.com

This is my current Gnome desktop.
I don't remember who made the excellent background ... but, thank you, I salute you.

I am so proud ... I built my own Conky :P Simple, nothing fancy. Only what I need.
Of course, I looked and gathered Conky info. from many sources.

Terminal is your friend!! (Command Line input still scares the beejesus outta me)

I just re-installed the KDE CE, here is my current desktop.

http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3143/snapshot1ik.png

The wallpaper is "Fresh Air" by Zwopper (Zwopper did an awesome job on this one!) and the theme is "Elegance".

Here is a link to the wallpaper.

The theme is stock in the KDE CE.

New month, new desktop.

Wallpaper is a photograph from WeatherUnderground.com, unretouched, it actually looked like that. "Glowy Green" window borders with "Cloudscape" application theme, colour-matched to the windows and wallpaper. "Hydroxygen" icons. "Wood" theme on Cairo Dock with "Hydroxygen" icons. "Brass" skin on GKrellm. "Essays1743" font on window titles and desktop.

Here's mine for today.

Image

Can't remember where I got the wallpaper, however the theme is My Wasp by mio69. I did however change the panel background to suite the theme better.

I am using DockbarX by M7S with the Shinybar theme by Levviathor.

Perusing this thread, I see my last post here was on page 25, so I thought I should contribute something!

I just installed Mint 7 XFCE CE a few days ago, but today I've been experimenting with LXDE. I actually already posted these in another thread about LXDE in a different sub-section, but thought I might as well add them to the screenshots thread too. So these are of Mint 7 XFCE, but running an LXDE session.

The first is LXDE but with Compiz as the window manager instead of Openbox (I was trying to see if Compiz would work with LXDE, and it does)
Image

The second is LXDE with a couple of XFCE components mixed in: xfdesktop managing the desktop (normally in LXDE the file manager, pcmanfm, is used for this) and xfwm for the window manager; everything else is LXDE.
