That is a lightweight system monitor called Conky. You can find it by searching in the package manager.

You can/have to setup the configurations of what you want it to display and how. Here are some screenshots with links to their configuration file (conkyrc)

Ok so this is the first time I have ever really customized an OS like this, so this is basically a work in progress.

Currently using:

Default shiki-wise theme (going to edit it later on to my liking)
Compiz / Compiz Fusion on highest Animation and Effects
AWN
Screenlets (Sidebar in use)
Standard GNOME Firefox theme (can't really find any good ones that I like outside of the GNOME one)

Full desktop:

lol Terminal :P :

Firefox browser:

And my home folder for the heck of it:

oscar799, I have to agree with mmesantos1. That is a very cool and original look. I would never have thought blue and orange could look that good together! Very slick!

mmesantos1,exploder,feed3,
Thank You :D :D

The "Any Colour You Like" icon set from http://www.gnome-look.org is really good, the bash script that comes with it makes it so easy to customise.

They're in the shadow of the planet itself, not actually missing.

I think they've been watching some apple ads. Purple background, window controls on the left. What's the bet that those cropped screenshots are hiding a dock?

Talking of screenshots I think it's time for me to join the fun.

pluraldave, I like your desktop! I see a lot of nice customizations and the wallpaper, panel and menu icon look awesome! I can't get over how much better the menu icon looks than the default, it looks just right.
