Hi :) I attach my current desktop, Mint 11 with AWN (repo) on the bottom, and my custom "desio" theme, with the Tittoni-Traversi Villa background and the colours of the city of Desio, Lombardia (Italy).

Not technically Linux Mint, but I'm geeking hard on this Tron theme for gnome-shell and thought I would share. Tweaked out tilda for a cool transparent terminal since gnome-terminal 3.0.1 does not support transparency yet.
Still trying to find a good gtk theme to go with it.

After running XPlanet/VisualEarth as my desktop wallpaper generator for a while (http://kennethjorgensen.com/blog/2010/0 ... e-desktop/) I decided to re-use some of my *own* Python code to develop an astronomy-based wallpaper generator. Using the same technique as VisualEarth uses, I use a cron script to generate a new PNG file every 60 seconds, and point the 'appearance preferences' wallpaper app to the image -- resulting in a pseudo-realtime 'sky clock' for my location :)

Thanks! Today I did the necessary research to determine how to provide instructions to 'Windows' users to be able to run my Python apps, which I think I figured out. However, the simple task of having the Windows desktop wallpaper refresh properly whenever the underlying image is changed is problematic -- and I have given up (for now). Makes me *so* glad that I am running Linux! :)

lKingjr, I love your shots and all, but please dude, tell me how to make my Mint 10 Gnome transparent. Thanks in advance for helping a newbie.

P.S. I'd love to know how to make all windows transparent, but active.
