More Mint and More Tron  8-)

This time i moved the dock up to the top and added a few screenlets, might change the lyrics screenlet to a album art viewer instead because it doesnt find lyrics for all songs.

This is my take on the screen shots in the page above.
  • Some of CaptHilts screens look nice. The bear in a box is too much, but the others are good.
maxheadway screen is more like I would use myself. Usable.
The colors in Carl screen-shot look too bright to me, attractive but not so practical. If you want your desktop to display anything, the visibility will not be great.
cra1g321 screen is too contrasted, glaring and dark. Is this look old-fashioned now?
Have fun,

[First I got caught up in getting the amount of transparency right... then I clicked the Submit button more than once, because it didn't seem to be going through.]

Nope; it was created by the poster t0m0. Personally, I don't think the Mint 10 default wallpaper's too grey, but it's obviously inappropriate for Mint 9, hence the above choice of background. (I liked Mint 10, except the improperly-functioning version of Startup Disk Creator it had; and Mint 9 is supported for a year longer!)

The background is called Forest Camo by *TheAL, to which I added the Mint logo.

While technically I shouldn't have modified his work, I am only using it personally and not redistributing it to anyone else. If you like the background please download and use *TheAL's original which is available as a zip file containing monitor, netbook and mobile screen resolutions.

My LXDE install is fairly standard. I have added the nvidia-96 drivers for the GPU, hplip for my networked printer and LibreOffice 3.4. It runs really well on this old hardware :D

This is not Mint of course but PCLinuxOS that uses Dobie the bull as a mascot. I was so happy how it turned out I had to share
