Here is my desktop. I prefer to keep things minimalistic. The background is a picture my wife took. It's hard to find pics that are 2560x1024

Installed Mint 9 on top of my PCLinuxOS partition, i tried, what can i say, it is an awesome distro, great community, but just couldn't get comfortable with it (the KDE, not the community, got a very warm reception there), can't be more specific.
The most heartening pop-up after a fresh install is "Drivers are available for your hardware" and when they install smooth as silk before any updates, it just makes your day.

This (or similar) would be my guess:

Doesn't seem to be the sort of thing that would fit on my desktop tbh (maybe top left?), or that useful for that matter - I always have additional windows open at the same time as a terminal.

Excellent desktop mmesantos1 :D
Being able to customise the colours of the AWN dock makes a subtle but noticeable difference - I've been playing with it myself but can't post screenshots at the moment, connection trouble.

This is really nice. What are you running here?

I actually spent half an hour trying to find the conky parameter for displaying distro before I realized I could just type it in there myself.

Also also:
