Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
That's actually Docky 2 for the folders on the side. You can have multiple docks with the new Docky. You can get from their PPA or enable it in Ubuntu Tweak.fwc wrote: Wow!! What did you use for the folder set on the side? And which window lister did you use on the top?
The window list is DockbarX which is also available from their PPA which is also enabled from Ubuntu Tweak.
Also, thank you gibbs1984

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Last I knew you switched to 7. But that was a while ago.
By the way what theme is that?

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
The theme is called Elementary by DanRabbit. You can get it on his deviantArt page. Or use Ubuntu Tweak and add the PPA. Easiest option.A.Tim wrote:Last I knew you switched to 7. But that was a while ago.

Yeah I was using 7 for a while... very nice OS if I must say. But I was always yearning to go back to Mint and was overtaken with my dedication to it.
Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
New to mint. I am used to kde3 and kde4. I was suprised at how easy mint 8 was to set up. This screen shot is a windows 7 look alike. Some of you might not approve but I wanted to see how easy it was to do. It was easy.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Must be to do with it being Winter, everyone is doing Black and Blue. Including me. Here's my theme de jour, as worn by my lovely 'new' widescreen laptop
(Just needs the Mint menu graphic from KDE edition to be perfect, IMO)
Theme comprises of QDrk metacity and QdarkX GTK themes, Footure icons (Gnomelook) and wallpaper from some wallpaper site I happened to google to one night whilst drunk! (will share if wanted its WXGA res though.)

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Lol. I'm sure it's pretty good. I was actually using Vista about a week ago and was surprised how well it worked. I hadn't been able to get my hands on anything newer than XP until then. Was really slow though, naturally.dlkreations wrote:The theme is called Elementary by DanRabbit. You can get it on his deviantArt page. Or use Ubuntu Tweak and add the PPA. Too many things I couldn't live without to ever switch back to Windows though, even if it gets improved a lot. I've always got VirtualBox if I need to fill the gap software-wise; that's where Windows belongs anyway, it's good as a guest OS.
Anyway, I'll add a recent screenshot so I don't end up hijacking the topic.
